Monday Musings -61- Eat, Pray, Love

Monday Musings / Monique / Escape Hatch"I have a history of making decisions very quickly about men.

I have always fallen in love fast and without measuring risks. I have a tendency not only to see the best in everyone, but to assume that everyone is emotionally capable of reaching his highest potential.

I have fallen in love more times than I care to count with the highest potential of a man, rather than with the man himself, and I have hung on to the relationship for a long time (sometimes far too long) waiting for the man to ascend to his own greatness.

Many times in romance I have been a victim of my own optimism. "

I like to quote Missy 'Misdemeanor' Elliot when she says to her guy:
"Why you act dumb like Big Dog?...
"You say you act dumb like Good Dog".

It's like a pessimistic view of optimism. I like it.

People keep telling me to read 'Eat, Pray, Love' but I just haven't picked it up yet.

This is part of why I haven't dated for a very long time (three years). For a while it seemed as though I attracted every Alpha loser within 50 miles of me. Until I learn to love myself and be a better judge of character I'm happy to be single. I'd rather be single than be with the wrong man.

Ok, now that I've made myself nauseous with sentiment, I'm off.

Have a great day!

Jane
