You are buoyant with talent, and you will do more that just stay afloat. You will charm a paycheck out someone else who will be so happy that you landed on their shore. Think big!
Marf- I was a tad um, pissy when it happened, so I just settled down enough to read my paperwork, and turns out it is more of a lay-off.
I get this from the words "associate may be called on for rehire in the future".
I think I'm done w/ them though. I was hired as entry-IT but seemed to be doing everything but IT work. I was prepared to work my way up and had no qualms about doing anything they asked of me.

Wow. Was it a layoff or something they thing you did wrong?
Teri- Thanks for the encouraging words.
Marf- Yeah wow. What a pisser, right?
Well, a layoff implies there is a chance of rehire. I was flat out fired. And no it isn't because of something I did.
I worked for Bank of America and this branch is about a month or two from closing if things don't turn around.
There were several of us.
Damn, that sucks! Eeeuuuw, back to lookin' for another job. I hate the process, myself; but good luck to ya!
[^.^]
Berni- Yep, it el suckarenos for sure.

Anyway, what's done is done.
To me, a layoff is due to company downsizing or other company-related issues.
Whereas being fired is due to something you did and/or something you didn't do. (or at least they thought so)
