I have listened to everyone talk about snow, finding myself more and more agitated that we had not seen a flake.
Winter finally showed itself to us here in Oklahoma, unfortunately, it does so in the form of ice.
Luckily it was nothing for the record books, and we did see it topped w/ a little snow to make it "appear" pretty.
I live less than a mile from work and knew when the weather finally did turn the wintry way, I would be expected to be the one to show. And I was.
It amazes me how little this state knows to prepare for winter weather. Every year it is a major revelation that rain can take many forms and occasionally does so, even here, in Oklahoma. The place freaks the fuck out. Sure we have sand trucks and "graters" that make round the clock routes through and do what they can, but --- seriously, I saw one of our sand trucks on its side on the highway. The people whose only job it is to regain some order in the choas that is winter, cannot drive under the conditions winter offers.
Not to knock the people doing the job, trust me, I don't doubt their abilities. I blame the city and state government for being so piss poorly prepared. Ok, that's all I'm going to say about it, no need to get riled because realistically, I don't much care. Just thought it worth mentioning.
Mainly the point to make is "WE GOT SNOW".
As you can see, it wasn't much, and it is on top of ice. But the boys and I were able to go out in it and play for awhile. Lil B even attempted a snow angel.....
................. poor boy, he tried. It was a rush to get properly dressed and out the door before it stopped. I knew it wouldn't last and this may be all we see this year, so grab at it while you can.
That was Tuesday night. Most of the snow was gone by Thursday and is totally gone now.

4 back talkers:
Um, like, eeeuuuuw! I hate snow; thought I'd share.
We had an unusual amount of snow over here, along with colder than normal temperatures. I long for Spring and Summer. We still have snow on the ground that's as hard as ice.
The trees in our backyard are damaged from the weight of the snow. It's gonna be interestin' to fix come Spring.
They use graters here. They're usually used to scrape the packed ice off the road.
Berni- Sounds like our issue here from the ice last year.
Marf- We have flowers starting to pop through here. How weird is that? Ice one week and flowers the next.
No flowers here yet.
